Dear Parish Family,
Our parish leadership has been praying and discerning about the mission that has been entrusted to us. Saint Andrew himself spells out our mission so simply: He found his brother Simon Peter and told him, “‘We have found the Messiah’ … then he brought him to Jesus. (Jn 1:41-42)”
We have joined a journey to rebuild our parish culture and identified some initial goals:
To provide the resources and spaces needed to bring people to Jesus.
To pray and dream for the future: and to determine what our parish will look like in one, two, or five years?
To determine what we need to do to “go and make disciples (Mt 28:19),” as Jesus instructed us to.
As a staff, we have been praying and discussing this. One of the immediate needs we identified was an additional space where our youth and small groups could gather, meet, and pray - a place where we can continue to build a strong faith community. Our St. Andrew’s “Brick House” - a residence in disrepair - is ideal for this, but it needs a “makeover.” So, we are embarking on a challenging project to renovate, repair and renew the “Brick House” with the goal of having it ready to use by August 1, 2023.
I’d like to invite all our parishioners to be a part of this project and I hope you will join us. We are asking for your time, talent, and especially, at this moment, your treasure, to make this dream a reality: to give a place for present and future participants in our Religious Education programs, our Youth ministries, and our small Christian communities to gather.
We estimate the cost to be approximately $85,000. I am very committed to this project for the future of St. Andrew’s and I have already donated $1,000 to get the ball rolling.
I would like to invite each family to prayerfully consider a generous donation of $250 or more. Whether a one-time donation or spread out in a pledge over several months (see chart below), it will be a tremendous help. Naturally, everyone's family's financial situation varies, but your help at whatever level is possible will make this dream a reality.
Donations and pledges can be made through the link below. Of course, donations in other forms are certainly welcome. Please follow the link below to take the virtual tour and join me in rebuilding and growing our community!
Please feel free to see me after Mass and to talk more about it. And, of course, please pray fervently for the success of the project!
God bless you all!
